Junior Soccer  Rooball  League

Junior Soccer

Junior Soccer includes boys and girls from Pre-primary to 17 years old.

The Goldfields Soccer Association organises the playing of Junior Soccer here in Kalgoorlie-Boulder and Kambalda.

They are responsible for:

• organising the fixtures

• making sure that games run smoothly during the season

• supply of match cards

• organising of goals, nets and other field markings

• liaising with the City Council about the use of grounds

• organising the insurance for players and public liability

Each club pays fees to the Association to pay for insurance and contribute towards the upkeep of equipment, field marking, etc.

Each club also needs to support the Association by volunteering to help with the set up and pack up of the grounds when required.

The Goldfields Soccer Association looks after two different levels of junior Soccer; Rooball and League.

Young Adults

In the 2007 season the 16/U (16 and under) competition is being changed to a 17/U (17 and under) competition giving one more year for youth to play at this level. The games will be played on Friday nights for the 17/U competition.

The GSA is planning on starting a social competition for young adults who are 23 and Under. If you are interested in joining this kind of social competition and are aged 23 or under then please download the Expression of Interest form (pdf) and fill-in and return to the GSA.

Rooball

This is a simplified version of soccer, some rules have been removed and the number of players and size of the field depends on the age of the players. We will be fielding Rooball teams for children from 5/U (5 and Under) to 10/U (10 and Under). Children are placed in teams by their age level.

Rooball is designed to give children a chance to learn the skills of soccer, develop their motor skills, learn to work as a team and have FUN. There is no ladder or “winning” team at the end of the season.

League

This is the full version of soccer played by children from Year 6 onwards. There is a competition ladder. There is also and Knockout Cup Competition and sometimes a Round Robin.

The league competition is organised into:

• 12/U - 12 and Under - for 11 and 12 year olds with Gold and Blue Divisions (if enough teams)

• 14/U - 14 and Under - for 13 and 14 year olds

• 17/U - 17 and Under - for 15, 16 and 17 year olds
